3 Uncommon Ways To Diversify Your Creator Income 💰
As many brands began tightening their advertising budgets this year, some creators have faced late payments, smaller deals, and in the worst cases, cancellations of brand partnerships.
Nate O'Brien, a popular YouTuber, has recently said "brand deals have dried up substantially in the past 6 months. Most of my friends who were charging $30k per video are now struggling to fill their sponsor slots at $10k."
So what can you do as a creator to diversify your income? Popular things that we see creators doing are uploading more to get more ad revenue, using membership sites like Patreon to get tipped monthly by fans, creating courses and digital products. These are all great, but here are some less discussed options for diversifying your creator income... 👇
Launch products for your viewers
Look at MrBeast and Feastables. Ali Abdaal and Essentiali. The creators looked at their core audience and creatoed products that cater to those individuals. You can do this too.
And your audience doesn't have to be huge. A $10 product sold to 100 people is an extra $1,000/month.
Establish long term brand deals
Brand deals that extend over several months are extremely beneficial for both brands and creators. Brands benefit from the creator's growth over time and get consistent exposure, while creators get an additional and predictable source of income.
Rely more on passive income options like affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing is an amazing opportunity that most creators don't take advantage of. Depending on the company that you are signing up with, creators can receive a set amount or percentage from product sales when a customer purchases a product through the creator's personalized link.
Tip: Look for software companies that have a similar target audience as your viewers. They usually offer higher affiliate rates and monthly recurring affiliate revenue.
