Let's dive in! 👇

Some "Finally Features" Are Coming To Instagram 😅

What happened? The Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, announced some new features coming to Instagram that users are "actually going to be excited about."

I don't want to watch the video. Okay - no problem. The first new feature is scheduled posts which will allow creators to schedule posts up to 75 days in advance AND edit those posts (even after they're already scheduled). The second new featured coming to IG is a cleaner, faster Instagram.com for desktop users. The new site layout will be more optimized for web browsers, be easier to use, and will look better on larger monitors, which are becoming the norm.

7 Common Thumbnail Mistakes by Jay Alto

Who is Jay Alto? Jay Alto is a thumbnail consultant with over 26K Twitter followers. He has worked with many YouTubers to help them create the perfect thumbnails. Some of the big names he's worked with are Sam and Colby, Judo Sloth, and Zealous. So he obviously knows A LOT about making high-performing thumbnails.

Well, he's also recently shared some common mistakes to avoid so that you can get more clicks on your thumbnails... ⤵️

What are Jay's 7 common thumbnail mistakes?

  1. Focusing on design (not theory) - people will click on the video they want to watch, so prioritize capturing why your video is worth your viewers' time

  2. Assuming context - you need to assume your viewers know nothing about your video topic and build your thumbnail accordingly

  3. Making them too complicated - thumbnails are small (especially on the mobile platform) and viewers won't click if there's too much to understand in the thumbnail, so make it simple

  4. Forgetting about the viewer - take time to understand who your viewer is and make every decision on whether it’s going to make them more likely to click

  5. Not thinking of good ideas - "good thumbnails don't make up for bad ideas," so make sure your video ideas are click-worthy

  6. Thumbnail vs. Content - make sure your thumbnail aligns with your video because if a viewer clicks for one reason and realizes the video is something else entirely, it will hurt your overall video performance

  7. Rushing the process - don't rush your thumbnails because they're equally as important as the video itself

  8. Jay's semi-joke bonus mistake because it only works when you use it effectively - Not adding this... ⤵️

👉 Make sure to show Jay Alto some love for this tremendous value! ❤️
