Twitch Goes Dark β¬οΈ
Twitch experienced its first major outage of 2023 on January 3rd.
The incident, which affected both desktop and mobile users, caused blank pages for accounts or an error message to appear, leading some users to believe that their favorite streamers had deleted their accounts. Mobile users on both iOS and Android devices also reported seeing an "error loading followed channels" when trying to access the app.
Twitch Support was quick to tweet about what was going on... π

According to the company's status page, the outage began at around 1:10PM ET and was marked as resolved at 2:23PM ET. During the incident, Twitch noted that the outage "could manifest in chat not working, login difficulties, search impaired, etc."
Don't worry - everything is back up and running now. Content creators can get back at it live streaming right now.
Rest In Peace, Ken Block π
It's with sadness that we report the passing of Ken Block, the founder of DC Shoes and Hoonigan Racing. Block was just 55 years old when he died in a snowmobile accident in Wasatch County, Utah. He was riding with a group at the time, but was alone when the crash occurred.
Block was a trailblazer in the world of action sports and turned his brand into a YouTube success story. He was probably best known as the creator and star of Gymkhana, a web series that combined stunt driving with impressive cinematography.
Gymkhana helped Hoonigan's YouTube channel bring in over 1 billion lifetime views, with the series' most-watched episode featuring Block drifting through the streets of Los Angeles racking up 57 million views.
Not only was Gymkhana known for its mind-blowing stunts, but it was also recognized in the marketing world for its clever branded videos. The sixth edition of the series, which supported the video game Need For Speed Rivals, won a Streamy Award in 2014 for the best brand campaign of the year.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ken Block's family, friends, and colleagues, as well as all the fans who were captivated by the incredible stunts he was able to pull off. Rest in peace, Ken.
