Twitter Updates Are Coming... Let's Discuss π£
$20 Twitter verified badges and a Vine comeback?!
Hey there. Have you ever wanted to get verified on Twitter? Those blue check marks are pretty cool, huh? Well, now may be your chance... BUT it will come with a price.
Let's talk about it! π
Getting Verified On Twitter Might Become A Lot Easier β
What is happening? Elon Musk - the new "Chief Twit" (aka owner) of Twitter - is reportedly planning to charge users $20 per month to earn a blue verified check via a Twitter Blue subscription. AND for those who are already verified on Twitter, you will have 90 days to subscribe to Twitter Blue or you'll lose your blue check mark.
Oh, and the team assigned to the project was apparently told they have until November 7 (6 days from now) to launch this new feature or they'll be fired.
Twitter Blue is Twitter's monthly subscription that currently costs $4.99 per month. It allows users to edit their tweets, get early access to new features, and more. Currently, it has nothing to do with verification badges.
A big complaint that Musk had during the acquisition process was the bots on the Twitter platform. This new feature will certainly let you know if users are bots or not. I'm sure bots won't be paying $240 annually for an account with a blue check mark.
We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available, but get ready to potentially have the ability to pay for a verified badge on Twitter.
To Vine Or Not To Vine π€³
What's happening? Since becoming the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk has been in the media A LOT. Speculation about employees getting fired and banned users being brought back to the platform have taken over news sites. AND...
As a newsletter for content creators, this is all pretty irrelevant. However, a recent tweet changed EVERYTHING!
Bring back Vine?

Our answer: Yes - in agreement with 69.6% of the nearly 5M votes.
Here's why. With the increasing popularity of short-form video, now would be the perfect time for Vine to come back.
The once popular video platform has a cult-like fan-base hoping for it to one day make its return.
You think it's hard to capture attention on TikTok or with Shorts? With videos lasting 6 seconds max, Vine makes that challenge even more difficult. But that is a good thing. It forces originality like we haven't seen since the app closed down.
Think about it. Vine is a huge reason Shawn Mendes, Logan and Jake Paul, King Bach, and so many other popular creators are here today.
If it returns, 5 - 10 years from now, there will be a whole new wave of creators just like them. AND Mr. Beast tweeted in response to Elon's poll showing interest in the idea.
With Elon behind a rebooted Vine, could it compete with TikTok? Maybe. One big difference between TikTok and Vine is that the former uses an algorithm to serve up videos, whereas Vine pushed content primarily to users' followers. If this gets upgrade, a Vine reboot could change the short-form video game.

Advice for new YouTubers:
Donβt be afraid if your first videos are your worst videos.
The videos Iβm most grateful for are my worst. The ones that I made long before I was ready, and make me cringe when I look at them now.
Those are the videos that made today possible.
