Is Twitter Coming For YouTube? πŸ€”

Elon Musk tweeted "Let’s see what happens when Twitter offers good video with higher compensation for creators …"

Hey there. You head that right - video on Twitter... at least that's what Elon Musk told MrBeast.

Let me explain! πŸ‘‡

Is Video Coming To Twitter? πŸ€”

What happened? Elon Musk tweeted that Twitter added 1.6 million active users daily in the past week. To this, MrBeast replied asking about daily active users on the platform, and Elon then teased the idea of compensation for video content on Twitter as if they are coming for YouTube.

What does this mean for creators? You may have the opportunity to be early on a potential new trend - posting videos on Twitter. When YouTube Shorts became a thing in early 2021, the YouTubers who took advantage of the new feature have some of the top Shorts on the platform today.

While there is no compensation for uploading video content to Twitter right now, Elon has made several hints at it coming. So, if you want to get ahead of the curve, you can start uploading your video content that you're already making to Twitter.

Worst case - you waste a couple minutes of your life uploading videos on your Twitter account. Best case - you beat the rush to Twitter once it start compensating creators and you probably start to grow an audience off of YouTube or TikTok.

How To Grow On Instagram (By An Ex-Employee) πŸ“ˆ

What happened? Joy Ofodu quit her job as a marketing manager at Instagram after she gained over 114,000 Instagram followers and 100,000 TikTok followers over the last 2 years. She recently talked to Business Insider (behind a paywall, but don't worry, we're spilling the tea) about how working at Instagram helped her understand how to grow her own following on the platform.

4 tips on how to grow on IG. Here are the 4 tips Ofodu shared:

  • Be consistent with what and how frequently you post. She's consistently posted 3 times per week for 2 years.

  • Follow the basics and watch the trends. Ofodu uses trends and said that the @Creators IG page shares a lot of in-house secrets to growth.

  • Try and let go of pressure. What works on IG constant changes (i.e. Reels, photo dumps, etc.) so try different things and don't feel so pressured to stick to one thing because it's working.

  • Find a niche and run with it. Ofodu was given the advice to "niche down" from a talent agent and has seen amazing growth since.
