A Checklist For Creating The Best YouTube or TikTok Videos β
A 7 question checklist that you should use when creating any YouTube or TikTok video.
Hey there! Today we have a checklist that is guaranteed to improve your video content on YouTube and TikTok.
Let's check it out! π
A Checklist For Creating The Best YouTube or TikTok Videos β
We've come up with a 7 question checklist that you should use when creating any YouTube or TikTok video.
1. Will people find value in this topic?
If no one is going to find value in the topic, no one is going to watch the video. So what is the value you want to provide in your videos? If it's information, will your viewers learn something? If it's comedy, will your jokes/skits actually make people laugh? You get it.
2. Can I make it interesting?
Go beyond just delivering information to your audience. A common piece of advice for content creators is "show, don't tell." When you can show something, show it instead of just delivering that information to the camera. Thumbnail of this video alone is a great example of this advice (but the video is an even better one)... π
3. Does it excite you?
It's not a MUST, but it definitely helps. Popular YouTuber, Sara Dietschy, breaks down how she deals with this in the video here... π
TLDW: She makes one video that excites her and one for her audience and then repeats.
4. Is this the first time it's been done?
If not, no big deal. Lots of big creators piggyback off of each others' ideas. However, if you're going to make something that someone else has already made, you need to improve it in some way. Level it up. Instead of "I spent 24 hours fasting" make it "I spent 48 hours fasting" (with your doctor's approval, of course).
5. Can it be described in 60-70 characters?
On YouTube, there's a title limit of 100 characters. BUT the best titles are around 60-70 characters and display fully on most devices. So make sure your video ideas (especially for YouTube) can fit into that character limit.
6. Can it be made in the time you have available?
We're all limited on time. So, can the video idea fit into the time slot you have available? If not, can you tweak it in some way so that you can make it within that time period?
7. Is it realistic?
"I visited every country in 30 days" is an AMAZING video idea that millions would watch. Can you do it? Probably not. Be realistic with your time, health, travel, and talent constraints.
Shorts Seem To Be Working π
At least they are for Ali Abdaal (and thousands of other creators)... π
This is the second time ever that the channel's hit 1 million views in 48 hours, and itβs all down to shorts.
Been experimenting with posting shorts almost daily and Iβm enjoying the process of thinking up new short-form content ideas π§
